DOC’S ROADHOUSE
Park Your
Ride Inside!
Doc's Roadhouse is a tribute to Dr. Allen Pulliam:
father, brother, friend, Vietnam
Veteran, fireman, optometrist, and motorcycle enthusiast.
Doc left his mark on us all. After he lost his
final battle with cancer at age 59, I thought about selling the house. After
all, Doc was gone, and his son was grown. After the grieving had passed, I
decided against it. After all, we raised our families together. He gave all
of our kids their first motorcycle rides. We exchanged eggs and sugar, shared
news, had philosophical conversations at the fence or over cups of coffee,
and shared supper by the fire many times.
Later,
I came up with the idea for the Roadhouse. I asked my family and mutual
friends of ours and Doc, and they liked the idea; and so Doc's Roadhouse was
brought into existence.
